Mary Conley-Dresbach

"This is our Mary Katherine 'Mary Kat', a three-and-a-half year old Maine Coon. When she was about 3-4 months old, she experienced a back injury. We believe she was jumping off of a table when she hurt herself. After a few weeks, she started walking again. Unfortunately, she had trouble walking normally. Her back end would often get ahead of her front end, and she had difficulty walking straight.

The vet we were seeing at the time didn't have any additional solutions for Mary. Also, she was a grouchy kitty and rarely wanted us to pet her. She has two siblings, and she would try to scratch and hiss at them.

After a few months, we sought alternative solutions. We found a vet that provide acupuncture. Mary loved the treatments and her demeanor improved. We saw this is a step in the right direction, but it wasn't the complete solution we were looking for. Then our family chiropractor recommended Dancing Paws. He had heard of Dr. Sivula, and thought he could help Mary.

It's been almost three years now, and Mary sees Dr. Sivula for a treatment every 4-5 weeks. I tell her that it's her 'spa day' because she hates getting into her carrier. Dr. Sivula adjusts her and provides acupuncture, and the rest of the staff treat Mary like a queen. Everyone there is so good to her. We know they care about Mary as much as we do.

The improvement that we've seen over the last few years has been tremendous. She walks much more normally, she runs and plays with her siblings, and she begs for pets before bedtime! We even bought pet stairs a few years a go, so she could get up onto our bed (she only uses them about half the time - way too proud for steps!). Overall, she appears happier and healthier. We can't thank Dr. Sivula and his staff enough for all they do to help her live a normal life."
