Zeke's Story
One thing she read about was acupuncture, along with water therapy. I didn't like the sound of someone sticking needles in me (yuck!) but the hot tub part sounded pretty good! We found Dr. Sivula and went in to see him. He was very nice to me, and I didn't even feel the needles going in! Plus he has some cute assistants, and I didn't want them thinking I was a sissy boy. After the needles, I went into the hot tub. They didn't tell me that I'd have to walk on a treadmill in there! That was hard work! We started going every week, and by now the treadmill is a piece of cake. Now I can't wait for my weekly visits with the gang.
Between the therapy and supplements, I'm happy to say that I'm still getting around on my own. Sometimes, I let Mom and Dad help me because it makes them feel good. I can still get up on the bed to sleep and I just chased a squirrel last week. I even played catch outside with Dad! Life is good, and if it weren't for Dr. Sivula, I'm not sure I'd still be able to walk today. My Mom and Dad are happy, too. We allthank Dr. Sivula for what he does!

"Hi, my name is Zeke. My Mom and Dad adopted me when I was almost two years old. About a year ago, I started getting a little weak in my hind legs. I just figured I wasn't a young pup anymore seeing as how I was almost nine years old. But Mom wasn't buying that, so she took me to see the vet. He told her that I probably had this disease with a really long name - Degenerative Myelopathy. Mom wasn't happy to hear this news and wanted to find out what could be done to help me.
